Doha is ahead

All QFs were completed today, and we have Davydenko-Murray and Ljubicic-Wawrinka in the SFs. Ljubicic struggled at bit against Kohlschreiber today, but seems to head for another final in Doha. Wawrinka seems to be strong, and may very well disturb Ljubicic and strip him off his title. Murray also beat Johansson convincingly 7-6, 6-0, but hasn’t shown very consistent top level play. Yesterday’s match against Schuettler was a big joke. 1-6, 6-0, 6-1 doesn’t happen too often at this level. Davydenko hasn’t dropped a set, and looks good prior to SF. I think both matches are wide open. Ljubicic must serve well all the time, Murray cannot afford to play like in the first set against Schuettler. OPEN

Hewitt and Mathieu on opposite ends are heading for a final at Adelaide. Hewitt has the tougher draw and has to get past Tsonga. Might be a nice match. Tsonga defeated young gun Gulbis 6-3, 6-2 and will be ready to start pounding at the local favorite.

In Chennai, Nadal has gotten no test whatsoever so far. With a win tomorrow he may set up a clash with Moya in the semis. On the opposite end, Cilic will play Haase. If Haase can repeat the Baghdatis kill once more he should get past Cilic. But I think Cilic still runs as favorite.

Anyways… 10 more days and we are back in Grand Slam inferno.
