Good morning. Results from yesterday:

James Blake d. Sam Querrey 5-7, 6-4, 6-4
I got them all right last night. James Blake needed a little time, but managed to pull off a great win against Querrey. I think this was a diff-between-top10-and-top100 player-match. Blake won the important points, broke Querrey’s good serve twice and, BAM into the semis.

Davydenko d. Ferrer 6-2, 6-4
Davydenko impressed to some level, after a poor run after Wimbledon(disregarding the whole scandal thing), and Ferrer seemed to have used up his play the day before against Roddick. Again, consistensy is more important and Davydenko has got plenty of that.

Federer d. Almagro 6-3, 3-6, 6-2
What the hell? Federer lost a set? To Almagro?! That’s right and I was sort of cheering for Almagro because once again Federer did not look like a champ. Only maybe once every second game he would show us why he is who he is. I’m not worried for his semi against Hewitt though.

Hewitt d. Moya 6-2, 6-4
Nothing special here. Hewitt was going to beat Moya, it was just a question how close it could get. Hewitt is better than Moya on hard court, and that should just about explain it. Wonder how far Hewitt could go in the US Open?
